A review of The Launderette by Support local businesses written on Monday 17th of August 2020
I dropped off my dog's bed along with a laundry liquid, and requested for the bed to be washed in one of the launderette's larger machines. Prior to that, I had asked about the price and was told that the service would cost just under £10. My husband collected the bed the following day and was charged £16 instead; not knowing the estimate was much lower, he paid for the service. I then contacted the launderette and asked for an explanation and the reasons behind the increase in price, but the explanation was neither logical nor satisfactory; I did not receive an apology and staff whom I spoke to seemed defensive.
To add to my overall confusion, approx week before the above happened, I had my kitchen rug cleaned at the same place and paid £8.60. Needless to say the rug was considerably bigger than the aforementioned bed.
I feel strongly about supporting local businesses but, sadly, I will no longer support this one..
